Behind the Scenes
Zero Plastic is a student-run organization focused on the health of our beaches and getting kids involved and educating them about pollution. Our biggest goal is to help reduce the waste of plastic in our local communities, all while making a measurable impact on young minds. Based of the Ripple Effect Project by HTMNC.

My name is Brianna Gibson and I'm currently a 9th grade student at High Tech High North County. I am the CEO of this organization. My hobbies consist of playing soccer, track and field, and spending time with my friends. A few things I love to do on my free time are go to the beach, watch movies, bake brownies, and give back to my community.

Hi my name is Kaya Lobo, I am the COO of our organization. I am also a 9th grade student that attends High Tech High North County in San Marcos! I have spent my time growing up at the beach and actually live very close to the beach. Being in Oceanside and growing up with the ocean as a part of living has really made me strive to help in anyway I can!

I'm Marley Smith, a Freshman student attending High Tech High North County, also the CMO of our organization. I love going to the beach and hanging with my friends. On my free time I love to surf, eat, and get outdoors!

Hi my name is Clarissa. I am the Chief Design Officer. I am an outgoing person that loves an extra challenge. I love to travel and I enjoy capturing moments through photography. I like expressing my love for family and life through social media. I am a Latina and come from Mexican heritage but I was born in Chula Vista California. My favorite quote is by Teddy Roosevelt, "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." I enjoy reading a good mystery and lately I have found a passion for Sci-Fi. I have two siblings a younger sister and a younger brother.

My name is George Iwanyc. I am a 9th grade student at High Tech High North County and Creative Director for our organization! I like to hang out with my friends, play sports like baseball, tennis and golf. During my free time, if I am not doing school work, I like to play video games with my friends, hangout with my family, and watch Netflix.

RYAN FOERSTER

My name is Ryan Foerster. I was born in Massachusetts and lived there for 7 years before moving to Carlsbad, California. I love the weather and the fact that I am so close to the beach. Since moving here I've developed a passion for photography. I enjoy taking pictures of nature. In 2016 I discovered a love for rock climbing. That same year, I joined the Vital team. I was hooked and have been doing it ever since. I'm super excited to see where this non-profit goes!
